What is Healthy Economics?

A local strategy being demonstrated by The Familyhood Connection Inc, that includes the participation of Morehouse Alumni whereever we are to adopt the high schools in our communities and connecting these schools to African American farmers to rebuild the food system of our community.


In 2009, David Roach class of 2009, received the "Outstanding Community Service Award" in recognition for years of dedicated and committed service from the Morehouse College National Alumni Association.

Healthy Economics

A systematic approach of bridging volunteers into a communities generation gap to emphasize and promote a sustainable, local economy.

The two main systems of Healthy Economics are :

1) The Food System and 2) The Educational system.

The strategy to build Healthy Economics utilizes four main programs (websites) to partner both: The food system and the educational system.

The four main programs of Healthy Economics

- the official monthly volunteer day. Also promotes other events in the community.

Friends of School.org- strengthens students government, pta’s, alumni associations, business partners in every neighborhood through the high schools.

Mo’ Better Food.com
- develop social enterprises that increase access to healthy fruits and vegetables. For example, building school gardens, farmers markets, cooperative grocery stores are the type of social enterprises that Mo’ Better Food has produced over the years that increase access to healthy fruits and vegetables.

The Intergenerational Enterprise
- The name of the the generations demonstrating the above strategies in every community to increase its ability of being locally sustained and governed.
